SALOON Tel Aviv was founded in November 2019 by Danielle Gorodenzik, a writer, curator, and co-founder of In Print JLM; Cornelia Renz, an artist living in Berlin and Tel Aviv and member of SALOON Berlin; and Jenna Romano, a writer, founder of CAIJ.co, and co-founder of In Print JLM. Although it is called SALOON Tel Aviv, our group includes professional women in the arts from all over the country — with many of its members coming from Jerusalem or smaller cities — who are interested in building their professional network in Israel and developing an exchange with international SALOONS. Our first meetings were hosted by SALOON Tel Aviv members, taking place at various venues where we had the opportunity to see the shows or events which our hosts were working on. At the moment, we are focusing on getting to know our members, and on creating a balanced representation within our group between the Jewish majority and Palestinians or other minority groups in Israel.
